They walk on the balance beam of time,
And we follow closely behind,
Talking them into a straight line.
Perhaps, they’ll fall off a time or two,
And if at some point they do,
We tell them, “Look! Do it this way!”
So we walk ahead balancing ourselves every day.
And then lead them the best we can,
As the most loving woman or man
We can be
So one day they’ll be old enough to see:
Life is a journey without finish lines
Where we must love everyone, at all times.
