New Life

Fall is the inversion of spring
When leaves take wing
And flutter to the ground
In opposition to a butterfly flying around
To pollinate budding flowers
In life’s growing hour.
Whereas, death tries to overpower
And draw us down from our Strong Tower.
But Jesus’ life, the light of men,
Saves us from original sin
So death cannot pull us in
And has no hold on those saved by Him.
In the end, we tread on leaves and overcome death
And break through our cocoons to take new breath.
