Can’t We?

“I am amazing!”
My daughter sings
As I push her on the swing.
I laugh because she is doing nothing
But sitting there like a queen,
And then I see myself in her
And the vanity of boasting and striving
Because who has grown us from the tiniest of seeds
To flourish in His garden for eternity?
Hasn’t He,
Not we?
We water
But it’s the Father
Who causes the growth.
Can’t we at least submit to this
And stop acting like atheists?
